Nami no Aya (Wave Ripple)

A new series by craftsman Hitoshi Ueuura of Otaru Handmade Glass Studio.

Capturing the gentle ripples spreading across the water's surface, and the layered expressions of waves, this series uses the unique transparency and softness of glass to bring those fleeting moments to life.

Each piece, rich in deep blue tones, shifts in expression with every change of light — as if holding the very movement of the ocean in the palm of your hand.

No two pieces are alike. The slight, natural variation that only handmade work can produce brings warmth and a sense of life to every piece, quietly adding the scenery of a peaceful shoreline to your everyday table.

Available at Creators Market "Hajime" at Taisho Glass Hall. Be sure to stop by during your stroll through Otaru.
